Do I need an account to use GoneUP?
No. GoneUP does not use accounts and never asks you to sign in. Your grocery data is stored on your device and is ready the moment you open the app, fully offline.
How does price estimation work?
GoneUP estimates prices based on what you have personally logged on past trips. After your first trip, items on your list show a tilde (~) before the price to indicate it's an estimate. The more trips you log, the more accurate your estimates become. We do not use crowdsourced prices or retailer price feeds.
Does the app work without an internet connection?
Yes. GoneUP is built to work in the store where signal is unreliable. Your list, price history, and trip log are all stored on your device and fully accessible offline.
How do I add items to my grocery list?
Use the search bar at the top of the List screen. Start typing and GoneUP will suggest items from its catalog and your own history. Tap an item to add it. Items are auto-categorized into Groceries, Essentials, and Other.
How do I sync my meal plan to my grocery list?
Open the Meals tab and tap "Sync to List" at the top of the weekly view. All ingredients from your planned meals are added to your grocery list automatically.
What is shopping mode?
Tap the "Shop" button at the top of your list to enter shopping mode. Check items off as you go. When everything is checked, you can log the trip directly.
What are pantry staples?
Pantry staples are items you buy regularly. You build your own pantry list using the same search bar. Tap a staple to quickly add it to your grocery list. You can remove staples anytime with the X button.
How do I plan meals for the week?
On the Meals tab, tap a day to add a meal. Choose from your saved recipes or create a new one. Meals are color-coded by type (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snack) and auto-sort on each day. You can also long-press and drag meals between days.
How do I log a trip?
Go to the Trips tab and tap "Log Trip." Select your store, enter the items you bought and what you paid, then save. Every logged trip makes your price estimates more accurate.
Where can I see price history for a specific item?
Tap any item on your grocery list or in your trip history to open its detail view. You'll see a price chart showing every price you've logged across all stores, your cheapest store, and the price range.
What does the price trend pill on my list mean?
The trend shows how the current estimated price compares to what you paid recently. A red arrow up means the price has gone up vs last week. A green arrow down means it's lower. "Stable" means it's within a normal range. These are based entirely on your personal trip history.
What is the "Heads Up" alert?
After you save a trip, GoneUP checks if any item's price jumped more than 15% above your personal average. If it did, you'll see a "Heads Up" alert showing which items spiked and by how much. You can tune that threshold anywhere from 5% to 50% in the Settings screen.
Where is my data stored?
Your grocery data is stored only on your device for offline access. It is not transmitted to any server and is not synced to the cloud, so no one else can see it.
How do I delete my data?
Open the Settings screen and tap "Reset app data" to permanently delete everything from your device. Uninstalling the app also removes all your data. You can email hello@goneupapp.com if you need help.
I forgot my password. How do I reset it?
On the sign-in screen, tap "Forgot password." Enter your email address and we'll send you a reset link.
